Here's our most recent favorite combo!
In a cup, place:
1/4 cup cottage cheese
1/2 cup plain Greek yoghurt
1/2 cup 1% milk
1 TB ground flax seed
1/2 medium banana
a handful of frozen blueberries (12-20 berries)
a drop of honey or agave (optional)
Using a stick blender, blend well!
*If you're using a regular blender, I suggest putting the ingredients into the blender in the opposite order, so the blueberries are closer to the blade.
Makes approximately 4 servings - 1/2 each
Other additions to try: sliced almonds, coconut or almond milk in place of half the milk, strawberries or other berries

yumyumyum. I LOVE smoothies. my husband is not a huge fan, which is kind of sad but also leaves me with more smoothie. :)
ReplyDeletemy current fave is of the "green" variety- but it's super rich and dessert like, too: two handfuls of spinach + one frozen banana + one/two tbsp natural PB + one/two tbsp dark cocoa powder or raw cacao + whole milk or almond milk + honey to taste, if the 'nanas aren't sweet enough.
I'm pregnant, so I've also experimented with prunes (for indelicate reasons, ahem) and another favorite is just blending whole milk, a frozen banana, softened prunes, and a pinch of cardamom together. better than it sounds, I promise.
Ooooh, you're hiding of the greens behind the cocoa and the PB sounds superbly tasty. I might have to try that as I haven't been brave enough to go for a green smoothie as of yet.
DeleteCongratulations on your little one - I blog stalked you and noticed it's coming so soon. How exciting! Cherish these days.
